First on the Scene
Community & workplace
About this course
Victor Farmington Ambulance is authorized by the National Association of EMTs to deliver First on the Scene (FOTS). Developed by NAEMT and the IAFC, it teaches the general public basic emergency response to life-threatening emergencies until EMS arrives, through lessons and hands-on skill stations.
Who it's for
Community members and workplace responders who want broader emergency skills than a standard CPR class, including how to respond to an overdose or severe allergic reaction.
What you'll cover
You'll learn how to call 911 effectively, perform hands-only CPR, and use an AED. You'll also learn to respond to an opioid overdose with naloxone, use an epinephrine auto-injector, control life-threatening bleeding, and safely move an injured person.
