When the call comes, be the one who goes
Volunteers have been part of Victor Farmington Ambulance since 1970, working the same trucks as our career staff. Eight hours a month makes you an active member.
Certified, or on your way to it
Certified EMTs, AEMTs, and Paramedics can apply today. Enrolled in a course but not finished yet? That counts too.
Not sure where to take a course? Email our training team at training@victorfarmingtonambulance.org and they will point you to one.

What each certification requires
EMT Basic
The state course runs about 160 hours. Finish it and you hold a New York State medical license number. Then comes our intern program: 20 hours of hands-on skills and real calls alongside a medic trainer.
EMT Advanced / Paramedic
One year minimum as an EMT opens the advanced classes. Critical Care adds about 480 hours, Paramedic about 1,000. At Paramedic you add 12-lead EKG and Advanced Cardiac Life Support, delivered to the patient before the hospital.

Your neighbors called 3,750 times last year
Every one of those calls was answered. Keeping it that way takes people who are willing to train for it.
